SUMMARY:The 2025 High School Changemaker Program
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\nGiving South Asian teens the space to think\, creat
 e\, and speak up about mental health\n\nThe Rcoz High School Changemaker P
 rogram is a 4-week immersive experience where South Asian teens reflect on
  mental health issues that hit close to home and take the lead in starting
  conversations that matter.\n\nThrough expert-led sessions and hands-on pr
 ojects\, they explore the cultural pressures they face and find ways to sh
 are their stories\, connect with others\, and make mental health feel less
  distant and more real. This year’s participants worked closely with lea
 ding experts including Dr Seema Sehgal\, MD\, Dr. Apurva Bhatt\, MD and
  Dr Hari Nair\, MD.\n\nProgram Highlights\n\nThese sessions combine lived
  experiences with clinical tools and insights\, helping Changemakers bette
 r understand and respond to the mental health needs of their peers.\n\nYou
 th Unwind Hours\n\nCandid\, relatable conversations on topics like\n\n 	Be
 tween Two Worlds: Balancing Culture and Identity\n 	The Weight of Being Pe
 rfect: Debunking the Model Minority Myth featuring Dr. Apurva Bhatt\n\nHe
 alth &amp\; Wellness Sessions\n\n 	Suicide Prevention Awareness with Juli
 e Taylor\, President from (The Sam Taylor Foundation)\n 	Substance Abuse 
 and Overdose Awareness with April Rovero from The National Coalition Ag
 ainst Prescription Drug Abuse (NCAPDA) \n 	A Youth Mental Health Workshop
  unpacking the impact of culture and identity\n\nCapstone Project\nChangem
 akers are currently helping organize Rcoz’s flagship Chalo Baatein Kare
 n (Let’s Just Talk) session\, happening on June 29\, 2025.\nThis year
 ’s theme: Scroll. Click. Repeat: Are Today’s Youth Silently Strugglin
 g?\nA conversation between teens\, parents\, and mental health experts on 
 how social media is shaping the emotional lives of young people.\n\nLearn

 ve:\n\n 	 Earned 24+ volunteer hours\n 	Gained real-world experience in e
 vent planning\, communications &amp\; outreach\n 	Created content—blogs\
 , posts\, and campaigns that raise awareness\n 	Learned tools to support t
 heir own mental health and others’\n 	Added meaningful experience to the
