0:00 [Music] 0:09 Namaste I'm akanga I'm from India 0:11 Bengaluru and my hometown is gulabi 0:13 nagaria also known as pink city that is 0:16 chapur so the first question is about my 0:18 journey and how I reinvented myself as a 0:22 social media influencer and uh styleon 0:25 my journey is very interesting at the 0:27 age of 22 I got married and I I was 0:30 certainly not prepared my marriage 0:31 didn't go well at the age of 27 my 0:34 daughter came into my life and at the 0:36 age of 31 I unsettled I got divorced I 0:41 quit my marriage I shifted to a new city 0:43 with my daughter and from a radio jockey 0:46 I shifted as a TV Anor I started my U 0:51 content creation channel in the year 0:53 2022 which is recreate with me there was 0:56 this little apprehension in my mind that 0:58 how my friend friends daugh my my 1:01 daughter's friends would uh perceive it 1:05 that you know my daughter comes from a 1:07 single parent family so I made my 1:10 daughter understand this thing that a 1:12 single parent family if it is a happy 1:14 family then it is a wholesome family 1:16 number one I do not think I face the 1:18 barrier of agism I just had to come out 1:22 the hurdles or the obstacles in my mind 1:24 because let me tell you at the age of 31 1:27 I became a TV anchor and I started a new 1:30 Journey at the age of 35 I started my 1:34 social media journey into styling and 1:36 story that's what makes me unique that 1:39 you know with age it not only gives you 1:41 wrinkles and joint pains it also gives 1:44 you experience to portray yourself in a 1:47 better Manner and to make your point and 1:51 also to add value to somebody's life so 1:55 I never faced this this hurdle of agism 1:58 uh however in India yes just like 2:00 heightism uh agism is also a big issue 2:04 second thing is you know single 2:05 parenting was never a challenge for me 2:08 because like they say when you Aspire 2:11 the universe conspires my parents and my 2:15 siblings they were always there for me 2:18 like a rock solid you know Solid Rock 2:21 throughout my journey my parents were 2:23 always there to support me my siblings 2:25 were there so there was this little 2:28 apprehension in my mind that how how my 2:30 friends daugh my my daughter's friends 2:34 would uh perceive it that you know my 2:37 daughter comes from a single parent 2:39 family so I made my daughter understand 2:42 this thing that a single parent family 2:44 if it is a happy family then it is a 2:46 wholesome family that we understood how 2:48 to take care of our Mental Health on our 2:51 own I would not say that I was in a very 2:55 happy State when I got divorced yes I 2:57 was in a sad State yes I was feeling 3:00 insecure yes there were moments that I 3:03 have cried and howled alone in my room 3:08 in my bed and there are nights you know 3:11 I I have thought through that have I 3:14 taken the right 3:15 decision but over the period of time I 3:18 understood that you know I always had 3:20 this this uh thing in my mind that 3:23 because I got married very early like 22 3:26 I didn't get much time to do the things 3:29 that I wanted to do so this is the time 3:32 this is the time where I can do all 3:34 those things which I wanted to do slowly 3:37 and gradually I got into fitness I I 3:40 resumed my katak which which always been 3:43 my dream if 3:45 you put your concentration on growth you 3:49 will grow if you put your concentration 3:52 on other people's growth they will grow 3:55 so I thought that better put all my 3:59 mental strength into myself I I also 4:03 read books I also do danan that is 4:07 meditation I also thank God on daily 4:10 basis with the for this beautiful life 4:13 that I am 4:14 living I can surely say that with the 4:17 blessings of my parents and my gurus uh 4:21 I'm grounded and every day whenever I 4:25 feel mentally weak I put on some music I 4:28 dance I relax relax myself or I go for a 4:31 walk and I write three good things about 4:34 myself then and then you know everything 4:37 feels like fine everything is fine so 4:41 these are my mental health exercises 4:42 that I do for everybody who who comes 4:46 across this this video three things that 4:49 I've learned is 4:51 is be kind to yourself okay what you 4:55 think about yourself is of the utmost 4:59 importance because that's what you will 5:01 reflect and people will start believing 5:04 that about you second thing is that um 5:08 your kids they are very resilient very 5:10 adaptable be open with them uh with your 5:14 situations try and communicate and tell 5:17 them everything even your emotions there 5:19 are moments where I have cried in front 5:21 of my daughter because because she's my 5:24 daughter and if she she would not 5:27 understand my emotions then who would 5:29 there is a bond that that we share and 5:33 lastly this is this is for everybody um 5:37 be the person in somebody's life that 5:42 you know you wanted or you really needed 5:45 at one point I try to be a good boss I 5:49 try to be a good leader I try to be a 5:51 good partner I try to be a good mother 5:53 and I make mistakes and I say this to my 5:56 daughter to my partner that I'm learning 5:59 and give me me chance and I will 6:01 certainly Rectify my mistakes so I think 6:04 I try to be kind to the people around me 6:08 as much as possible
